Chopping Firewood

We found a great stash of burnable wood for the winter. The park behind our house is forested and there are many fallen trees back there. Apparently, someone was nice enough (maybe the city) to cut these trees into nice manageable logs. So, we loaded them up and brought them home. Unfortunately, whole logs don't burn very well, so I had to go out and buy a maul and split them.



The last picture is of our new wood pile.

Christmas Tree

We bought a small tree at Trader Joe's. After Christmas, we'll transplant it in the yard somewhere. It is a dwarf variety, so it should only get to be about 6' tall.

Thanksgiving

We roasted a small (12lb) turkey and had a friend over - and finally got to use our china set.
